Warehouse Worker/Relief Driver (Toronto) Qzina Specialty Foods, a division of The Chefs' Warehouse, is a leading importer and distributor of gourmet chocolate, pastry and dessert ingredients with several offices throughout North America. We are immediately seeking an energetic, experienced, and detail-oriented employee to join our Warehouse distribution team at our Toronto, Ontario location. The warehouse associate will be primarily responsible to stock, relocate, select, receive, and load customer orders, with the secondary responsibility of assisting with driver relief. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following. WAREHOUSE (full time responsibility) Maintain a safe, clean, and organized warehouse environment including freezer, dock, and facility area at all times. Sweep warehouse clean of debris, empty or broken pallets or cardboard, and plastic on an ongoing basis. Maintain food safety standards at all times. Receive, stock, and rotate inventory as required. Check condition of pallets and exchange where necessary. Promptly advise warehouse manager of inventory shortages or damage or other issues. Pick orders using tie high method. Ensure all picked orders are checked by warehouse manager for accuracy and quality. Carefully pack and clearly label all orders. Prepare orders for delivery, UPS, or pallet shipment. Assemble finished orders in shipping area reserved for outgoing product. Operate all delivery/warehouse machinery including truck, van, forklift and/or other cargo handling equipment in a safe and controlled manner to the standards of company policy at all times. Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned DRIVER DELIVERY (special occasion responsibility) Deliver orders to company's customers via company van or truck in the absence of the Drivers. Collect customer payments or obtain receipt for goods. Maintain truck log according to provincial regulations and paperwork for common carriers BOL's. Communicate with supervisor via telephone or radio to receive instructions and report any issues. Inspect tires, lights, brakes, gas, oil, and other truck equipment. Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned. Qualifications: As we are a busy and growing company, the ability to multitask and re-prioritize job tasks in a constantly changing and time sensitive work environment is essential. The following is a list of additional specific qualifications. 3-5 years of experience in warehouse operations Forklift/Reach truck experience desirable Experience within the perishable food industry a plus High School Diploma or equivalent Must have flexible working schedule; overtime as required to meet business needs Strong communication and organizational skills High efficiency, accuracy, full verbal and written literacy in English Ability to work independently and with others, including management, office, warehouse, and sales personnel Must be able to interact courteously and tactfully with customers and/or vendors to the point that productivity and morale are positively affected Must possess a valid driver's license, clean driving record and background credentials Valid class "G" license required. In addition, class "D" license strongly desired PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to lift 55lbs. repetitively, consistently. Must have visual acuity.
